Inspired by the German sleds made for the Santa Candy Containers and Belsnickles of the 1800's, I have designed this collection of sleds for all those who love both antique and new Christmas. They are perfect to use along side your own Santa, Belsnickle or Krampus OR you can use them as a vehicle to display part of your Christmas collection. $ 195.00 I will be making these as "Special Order" pieces. Which means that each sled is handmade and hand finished making it a unique piece but they are not one-of-a-kind. There is also the option to have your sled mounted onto a platform with wheels much like the antique German toys. These platforms are also handmade and hand finished and feature hand cast lead wheels just like the wheels used on the antique toys. They are painted and then dusted with vintage mica "snow". Sled No. 2 has several layers of a oil applied to the wood and the side rails are made from hand-split wooden branches. The logs have a few brush strokes of snow as do the runners. (Types of wood will vary from sled to sled and may take a bit more time depending on the availability of bran hes/logs.) There is an additional charge of $50.00 for the platform (24"l x 8"w). |
