Inspired by Victorian era shell art…this piece is made from a cigar box and layers of hand cut and chip carved wood. The focal point is a Victorian Shell Art Pin-cushion. The pin cushion rests on a bed of "sand" and is joined by a crab shell and an antique brass button that has an anchor on it. I have incorporated the shell art into the piece in much the same way it was done in the Victorian era. The interior has a hand-dyed and aged velvet covered panel at the bottom and a vintage "High Sea" cigar box label on the lid. $ 525.00 Approximately 54 pieces of hand cut and carved wood were used to make this one-of-a-kind work of art. |
