Inspired by the German sleighs made for the Santa Candy Containers and Belsnickles of the 1800's, I have designed this collection of sleighs for all those who love both antique and new Christmas. They are perfect to use along side your own Santa, Belsnickle or Krampus OR you can use them as a vehicle to display part of your Christmas collection. $ 375.00 (Sold) This Extra Large Sleigh is finished with shades of brown washes and an accent of metallic gold. The curved front of the sleigh is created by busing organic Luffa Sponges that have been aged. There are also branches on each side that have been dusted with a small amount of mica "snow" which could have been used to hold the reins of Santa's reindeer. The archway at the back of the sleigh is made from a birch tree branch and is draped with some moss and dusted with mica "snow". The archway is removable or can be placed just behind the seat towards the front of the sleigh. There is a platform with wheels that comes with this sleigh. It is painted white and glistens from the mica "snow". The sleigh can be left as a separate piece or I can attach the sleigh to the platform if you so choose. The platform measures 24"l x 11"w with 1.125" diameter hand cast lead wheels, just like the antique German toys. |
