Inspired by the German sleighs made for the Santa Candy Containers and Belsnickles of the 1800's, I have designed this collection of sleighs for all those who love both antique and new Christmas. They are perfect to use along side your own Santa, Belsnickle or Krampus OR you can use them as a vehicle to display part of your Christmas collection. $ 225.00 I will be making these as "Special Order" pieces. Which means that each sleigh is handmade and hand finished making it a unique piece but they are not one-of-a-kind. There is also the option to have your sled mounted onto a platform with wheels much like the antique German toys. These platforms are also handmade and hand finished and feature hand cast lead wheels just like the wheels used on the antique toys. They are painted and then dusted with vintage mica "snow". The Large Sleigh is finished with shades of brown washes and an accent of metallic gold. The curved front of the sleigh is created by busing organic Luffa Sponges that have been aged. There are also branches on each side that have been dusted with a small amount of mica "snow" which could have been used to hold the reins of Santa's reindeer. There is an additional charge of $50.00 for the medium platform (24"l x 8"w). |
