SnowAngel Box

My childhood memories of making "angels in the snow" and an 1800's trade card were the inspiration for this special piece. The top of the box features a "snow angel" whose interior base has been dusted with German glass glitter similar to the antique glass glitter that still remains on the trade card. The sides of the box features Tramp Art "snowballs". Lift the lid to see the 1800's trade card. The interior of the box has been painted to match the icy blue hues in the trade card and the bottom has been dusted with German glass glitter. Turn the box over and you will see that the bottom of the box has been painted to match the red on the trade card. The exterior has been stained and then a series of white washes were applied. Approximately 50 hand-cut and carved pieces of wood were used in creating this one-of-a-kind work of art. If interested, please contact the museum store at 1.757.220.7693 |
